I was born in Västerås outside of Stockholm and I grew up in the center of the city in a house my parents bought after selling the house my father built outside of the city, on a small peninsula called Tidö-Lindö.
I guess my upbringing was more of the ordinary kind, except from the fact that there always was a lot of people at our house. It was friends of my sister, who was 9 years older. There was kids from the youth centers my mother worked in. Friends of me, and friends of my 5 year younger brother.
When I was ten years old I got an old guitar that my sister never had used to play on, despite my parents wish. I guess thats why they never expected me to pick it up and play either. But I did. And as it seemed It didn’t take me too much effort to learn to play it. At the age of 12 I wrote my first song. It was only the first one of many that would follow.
At the age of 14 I became a member of the first band. I went through a lot of bands through the years, until my 25th year. That was the time I got tired of going out playing my own music mixed up with others, so I stopped. And after that I decided only to compose and arrange.
That is the fun part, don’t you think?
The first job I got, besides music. Was on a company called Tage Larsson Reklam. It was a company that produced commercials and exhibitions, my job was that of a graphic artist. After that I worked on a lot of places in my home town. But it was always as a graphic artist. When I grew tired of Västerås, and believe me that is easily done. I moved down to Gothenburg, despite my publishers wish to move to Stockholm instead, and aim for a career in the music industry. This was at my 25th year.
In Gothenburg I continued as a graphic artist for a couple of years before I ended up in a company that needed a graphic artist with the knowledge about computers. And as I had used computers for some time to make music by now, I ended up with a new job, media producer. At the same time I met my future wife that gave me two wonderful daughters, Celine and Alicia. But that was after we had built a house a bit outside of Gothenburg.
Unfortunately they didn’t have that much time growing up in the house due to the fact that we separated and both of us moved back into Gothenburg. Then I realized that moving away from a city, that was a stupid idea from the beginning.
During this time I was working as a media producer and I was a part owner of a music studio. The company that I worked for in media production happened to be one of the fore-runners in the field in Sweden, so I learned a lot. But at last I realized that I didn’t want to go on living that life so I quit the job. At the same time we realized that the studio didn’t make enough money for us to keep it, so we sold that too.
So there I was, and at this moment I realized that the real challenge in life is actually people. So I started to study again, in my early 40s. And I ended up as a behavior scientist with religious science, sociology, social psychology as a foundation. Adding to it a couple of years studies in therapy. So today I work with people who are in a difficult position.
My two daughters are living with me and have been doing for the past 6 years. I still write my music and I am currently curious about what might be the next thing to happen making my life interesting.
I am looking forward.
